Christmas slow down

The build is at a stand still. Its christmas and new years, so here is the house waiting to get the frame finished.

Hello, Can you hear me,!

Today they put in the pipes. The kids thought it was awesome because they could talk to each other through the pipes. Alot of ,"Can you hear me", was yelled. Plus singing, and anything else that they liked a vibrating echo sound too.

We also have a reserve very close by. The kids where begging to feed the baby ducks on the pond.

Block leveled

Today it all started with the block being leveled. Jake thought it was great with all the huge rocks to pick up and throw.

I cant believe its actually starting.

We only have to pick the mouldings for the windows and parapet and then its all up to them.

So relieved

4 weeks and counting

Yahoo, the contracts are signed and we are 4 weeks from start.

We picked the wooden timber floor and we are going with a NSW spotted gum. Its one of the stronger aussie timbers, and has stacks of colours in the timber so it matches more stuff. We also decided in semi gloss for the clear coat. We will maybe go gloss in the future when we get it re done.The kids will be alot older then.

Still waiting

Its 6 weeks untill we actually start on the block building. Its taking alot of time getting all the paper work worked out. Janet which covers all our paperwork is passing this on to a contractor to cover everything now. She has done as much as she can, and the council is running her around. All because our retainer wall, garage height and we are 1/2 a meture forward from the neighbours. Lets prey its all work out in the next 2 weeks.


The floor has been our new nightmare. We thought we could get the hardwood floors laid on the slab no problems, but then our layer told us her wasnt happy to do it. His had alot of problems, and  heard some horror stories too. So then we started looking at tiles, floating floor and wood look lino. Problem is I didnt like anything but the tiles or true wooden floors. After alot of looking around I think we got a good company to lay the wooden floor. They are a Echuca mob that has been doing floors for 15 years. Im still not sure on the tile, we are still waiting for the cost to lay them.
